AMPed Hybrid Academy is a private, secular K-8th grade microschool located in Farmington Hills, MI. AMPed follows a fully project-based learning curriculum and the mixed-age classes are capped at 12 students per class. A 1:6 staff to student ratio is maintained. Every student receives a personalized education plan (PEP) that provides a customized learning path for them. Classrooms are warm and inviting, with a variety of seating options and a comfortable feel. The dedicated sensory room is available to students to use whenever they need to help them regulate and relax.

The hybrid schedule means that classes are held in person two days every week and every other Friday. On the other days, students are provided with specific tasks to complete at home that align to their PEP. Virtual check-ins are provided to ensure students know what they need to accomplish and to provide assistance as needed.

We are looking for a middle school teacher to join our staff. Our ideal candidate is a teacher who is looking for better ways of reaching students and helping them develop a love of learning. Must be comfortable with students of varying abilities and needs, and well-versed in social-emotional learning. Our students not only learn academics at AMPed, but also how to self-regulate and self-motivate in positive ways. Most of all, we’re looking for teachers who are passionate, creative and fun!

Responsibilities:

• Develop projects and lesson plans appropriate for each class
• Conduct or facilitate regular assessments as directed by school administration
• Assign and monitor individualized homework assignments for each student in accordance with their PEP
• Communicate with parents regarding their student’s academic and social-emotional progress, including conferences and progress reports.
• Daily tracking of student projects, tasks, and progress
• Maintain a safe, welcoming, and neuro-affirming classroom for all students
• Part-time teachers will teach a single class (2.5 days/week with virtual check-ins on other days)
• Full-time teachers with teach two classes (5 days/week)
• School year and full year options available

Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in education related field
• Special education degree or experience a plus
• Neuro-affirming
• Proficient use of technology
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Training in or experience implementing SEL curriculums
• Teaching certification NOT required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $20,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
